Another Day Another Destiny

Brennan's View at Work
As I was sitting down to write this I looked over at Brennan and said, "what did we even do this week that's blog worthy?"  He started thinking and said that he couldn't remember what we've done this week. Our lives have become a perfect routine and we feel fully adjusted to our summer life. Well too bad that this is my last week of work and Brennan only has two more weeks left, then we will go through a whirlwind of activity until we settle down again in Provo.

There was a Relief Society Summer party this week, and we had to bring desserts to share. Of course, I want to fit in with all the amazing Silicon Valley Sisters so I wanted to make a nice dessert which I did. I found this awesome idea online which was basically oreo fudge like deliciousness. Basically, it was oreo crust then frosting mixed in with more Oreos and then frozen.  (here's the recipe) Everybody liked it.  Also, we had our summer party in someone's back yard and there was a pool. That's probably the best part of living in such a wealthy area, giant houses and pool parties.

At work this week I was part of our weekly skit. We have a story every week, and the campers have to help the main character do something. I was the villain Ms. Bo-Ring  I hated noise and fun. It was great. In the end, the main character gives me ear plugs so that I don't mind the noise and then she builds an amusement park. That was my work week highlight.

On Saturday Brennan and I went on a bike ride down a local bike trail. It's called Steven's Creek Trail and it's a nice pathway for biking and running/walking. There are a ton of bridges but they don't go over water they all go over highways #californiaroads. We had an awesome time exploring the trail and on our way back we biked over to the Google campus to check it out.  Google is kind of like Disneyland, you enter campus and you just feel this small magic in the air. Everything is colorful (well in the Google colors). They have umbrellas over tables and lawn chairs all in bright colors. They also have bikes all over campus for their employees to ride between buildings. I tried one out. Totally legit. Basically, Google acts like it's better than the rest of the world, which they are because what would the world be without Google? After our bike ride, we had lunch at a cute little French Bakery. Kind of like a Kneaders, but with super delicious food. We ordered some sandwiches and wraps and got pastries for dessert. The bakery is just in downtown Los Altos which is already a cute area.

Sunday two great things happened. Brennan gave a lesson in Elders Quorum and our young married friends invited us over for a game night. #onlyfriendshere. We met this awesome couple in our ward, and they are just here for the summer same story as us.  A couple of weeks ago we had them over and played games and ate treats and then yesterday we went to their house. They are staying with their uncle who basically has the biggest house I have ever seen. The couple is living in the guest apartment connected to the house. But really the house was huge! Super pretty Tuscany theme all throughout the house, huge pool in the backyard with a hot tub, plus a BBQ pit, a putting green and a trampoline. Not to mention an indoor gym and huge TV room. The family was gone so we just partied with the couple, and when I say party I mean played Bananagrams.

Well that pretty much sums up our week, things are started to get a little crazy around here as we keep getting ready for Europe!
