The End is Near

We have enjoyed our time in California so much and Brennan is so in love with his job, and I am addicted to Ghiradelli Chocolate that we have decided to come back! That's right Brennan has been offered a full-time position with EA next year and we couldn't be more thrilled! Let me brag about Brennan for a second because he is too humble to do it himself. He has been working extremely hard this summer making sure he got all his projects done and always having a very professional persona. During his last two weeks, he had to present to a group of higher ups about what he learned/gained during the internship. He gave a great presentation and they said that it was the best presentation they have ever seen from an intern.  Also, one of the top leaders in EA Finance said that he is one the best intern they have ever had! I don't think I will ever be able to express how proud I am of my husband. Not only did he knock his internship out of the park but he did a great job at balanci

See the Sea (But not the Sunset)

Summer part two has officially begun for me! I had my last day of camp Galileo and now I'm off to party for the rest of the summer! Last day of camp was bittersweet. Am I going to miss the annoying kids and the hot sun? No.  Will I miss the cute precious children and the endless fun games we played? Yes!  Even though camp has ended I am super glad for the opportunity I had to work at camp Galileo, I learned many new games and had great experiences. Unfortunately for Brennan, he is stuck at his office for another two weeks :( so no summer fun for him yet. This weekend we made plans to visit the beach and watch the sunset. However, because we live in the fog of San Francisco, the beach was covered in a huge cloud and was cold and there was no sunset. Crazy weather. It was sunny and nice the whole drive until we got off the freeway. We still had fun running around on the sand and exploring caves. Also, we've been on a titanic kick lately (I made Brennan watch Titanic so the

Another Day Another Destiny

Brennan's View at Work As I was sitting down to write this I looked over at Brennan and said, "what did we even do this week that's blog worthy?"  He started thinking and said that he couldn't remember what we've done this week. Our lives have become a perfect routine and we feel fully adjusted to our summer life. Well too bad that this is my last week of work and Brennan only has two more weeks left, then we will go through a whirlwind of activity until we settle down again in Provo. There was a Relief Society Summer party this week, and we had to bring desserts to share. Of course, I want to fit in with all the amazing Silicon Valley Sisters so I wanted to make a nice dessert which I did. I found this awesome idea online which was basically oreo fudge like deliciousness. Basically, it was oreo crust then frosting mixed in with more Oreos and then frozen.  ( here's the recipe ) Everybody liked it.  Also, we had our summer party in someone's back

I want to ride my bicycle

I'm supposed to be helping Brennan plan our Europe trip right now. It is way too hard. Trying to decide what museums to visit and attempting to get tickets is proving to be quite the challenge. I understand why people use travel agencies now. Well since I need a good distraction I'm going to update the blog. Last week was jam-packed full of new experiences, fun adventures and a doctor's visit. Hang on tight while I tell you all about it. Our festivities started off with going to see "Spiderman" on Tuesday. First off here in Silicon Valley $5  Tuesdays turn into $6.50 Tuesdays. say what? But at least we still got a deal instead of paying for $13 a ticket.   Also, one of my students from my old job was visiting family in the area so he came with us! It was great for me to catch up with him and see how everything is going back at the school. The movie was great. Best movie I've seen all summer. The best part was all the awkward high school scenes. So for

Brennan says that I start every post with how fast time is flying so I will refrain from mentioning that in my opening paragraph. However, I will mention that the views of this blog are dropping dramatically, so make sure you read my posts, or else I will have no reason to write them!  The highlight of this week was our weekend camping trip, but before I get to that let's rewind and start at the beginning. For work this week we had fewer kids at camp, so I was asked to work at another location where they needed more staff. I worked in San Carlos which is just a couple of miles from where Brennan works so we got to carpool every day to work. That was sweet. At the San Carlos camp, I had the opportunity to work with the younger age group (the Kindergarteners) and I had the most fun time. They are sweet and innocent and love playing any game you tell them. We played with the parachute one day and that was probably the best day all week. These kids could stay entertained with a par

Another week in the books. Seriously time is flying by this summer, I can't believe it's already July. Still not exactly sure where June went. This last week has been packed with fun adventures at work as well as exploring. Bee Sting  The biggest event that happened to me this last week is that I got stung by a bee, right on the lips. No joke. There I was riding minding my own business as I rode my bike to work and then BAM out of nowhere I see something fly towards me and that fill this intense jab in my lip. I quickly raised my arm and brushed whatever was up there down onto the ground, but that didn't stop the immense pain I was feeling in my lip. It felt like a had 100 needles just poking on my lip. At this moment I was still on my bike and I didn't really know what to do. I couldn't just stop riding because then I would be late for work. I thought about turning around and going home but realized I was halfway to work and work was downhill while home was

Can we just take a step back and realize how fast the summer is flying by? We've already been out here for five weeks! Next week we will be reaching our halfway point, that seems oh so crazy. Our California Adventure just keeps getting better each week. This week Los Altos was hit by a heat wave and we both almost boiled to death. Brennan had a fun week at work with conferences and outings while I was left to fry at my own job. Over the weekend we snuck to Monterey again and had another splendid Saturday! First, let's talk about Brennan's amazing week. He had a three-day conference at his work, with lots of meetings and breakout sessions and then fun party stuff. His work gave him breakfast every day and then in the evening he went out to dinner with his co-workers and then they also did finance team bonding activities. One night for their dinner they went to a restaurant/bar and Brennan had his first experience of watching everyone around him drink alcohol and practice

Couldn't Get to Monterey so went back to Santa Fe

Well actually we could get to Monterey it's just that that song was in my head all day while we were in Monterey. We had a super fun Saturday in Monterey and surrounding area and a relaxing Sunday. We needed it because our week was packed full of work. I finally started my summer camp job and Brennan is kept busy with excel at work. The camp I work at is called Camp Galileo, basically, it's a camp where kids make art projects, science projects and play outside. They also get to do face painting and make lanyards (and when I say lanyard I mean those boondoggle things). They also sing songs and make up cheers for their group. It's the best of camp without having to stay in cabins and not shower. The camp is located about five miles from where we live so I get to ride my bike. It's a nice ride, not too hilly. The only problem is that I show up to work already covered in sweat and then I spend the next eight hours outside sweating and being hot. Then I hop back on my bike
