San Fran to the Cisco

What a week! It's crazy we have only been here for little over two weeks and we already feel like we've been here forever. This week when Brennan wasn't working we did some fun exploring outside of Los Altos and have just been enjoying the sun and enduring the crazy California traffic and road system.

It was nice having a four day week! The week went by super fast! On Wednesday we decided to go out to San Francisco for the evening. I have been dying to go to Ghirardelli Square so that's just what we did. We took the Caltrain to the city and then hopped on a bus to get to the west side. It was a sketchy bus ride but it was a fun ride through the city and seeing the buildings and the different parts of the city. It was windy and chilly and there was close to no one at Ghirardelli Square. When we walked into the area Brennan saw workers handing out free samples so we walked into a shop and got some chocolate, then we went into another shop and got even more free chocolate! We could have ended there and it would have been a success. I'd been studying the dessert menu all day and had my heart set on a specific sundae which we decided to share (thank goodness because I could barely eat half of it). The sundae was composed of vanilla and cookies and cream ice cream with a chocolate chip cookie. Topped with whipped cream and chocolate pieces. totes delish.  We ate the sundae overlooking the foggy bay. It was classic.
Upon completing the sundae we rolled ourselves over to the chocolate section of the store and made a "treat bag" to eat later that week. I know you can buy the chocolate in the store, but it's just way more fun to put chocolate in a bag at a chocolate shop. Brennan was all daring like and wanted to try to super 90% cocoa chocolate squares while I just kept safe with milk chocolate and toffee.
After exploring the square we found our way to the pier and walked along, gazing at the ocean and wishing the fog would go away. We couldn't see the Golden Gate Bridge because of the fog, so it just means we'll have to go back soon! On the pier, there are benches that have super high backs so that you are guarded against the wind #smartidea.  We had a blast exploring around the bay and stumbling upon Fort Mason and surrounding areas. On our way back we passed through Ghirardelli Square again to use the bathroom and lo and behold we found a ping pong table just sitting there waiting for us to enjoy it. We played a great game of ping pong with a broken ball and the wind (for the record I beat Brennan). Fun night exploring the city!  We took the bus back to the train station and took the train home. We are such party animals!

Saturday Morning we had breakfast at "The Original Pancake House." We've seen it multiple times and really wanted to give it a try. The verdict. It was good. Better than IHOP and Dennys but not like the best pancakes in the world. It was fun to try out even though my chocolate milk was the nastiness thing to ever touch my mouth.

We also got to see BYU baseball get scorched by the Stanford Cardinals. It was a NCAA tournament game and we found some super cheap tickets. However the stadium was so sunny and there was not a lot of shade so after about two innings, we went to the grassy area and sat underneath a tree, yes we were farther from the game, but now we won't be getting skin cancer from the sunburn we would have received. Even though BYU lost it was fun to enjoy summer by watching a baseball game and eating a hotdog #americandream.

After the game Brennan took me to EA and gave me a tour of the facility. Lots of game consuls and couches. He loves where he works and had so much fun telling me about each area. We stopped for awhile and played a video game. I think by the end of the summer I might get better at video games.
