It's kooler in California

Wowy!  This week has been flying by, hence a later blog post! Last week was my last week of freedom before my job started on Saturday. We did some fun things, but mostly hung back and relaxed.
We found a fun golf course and were hoping to go to the driving range, but alas it closed early the day we went so we ended up putting around. However, Brennan went back and golfed the whole course and really enjoyed a course with palm trees.

We also went exploring for pickle balls courts, and couldn't find one, so we played pickleball at a tennis court and at the same park was a fun playground with swings surrounded by beautiful trees. It was a perfect park nestled close to our house.

On Friday we celebrated the last day of my summer! I started my camp training on Saturday so on Friday night we went and got ice cream! We went to an ice cream sandwich place and both got cinnamon churro flavored ice cream, a very magical way to end summer.

Now that we are in the golden state we are officially GOLDEN STATE WARRIOR FANS!!!!!  We didn't just jump on the bandwagon in their last game, we watched games four AND five, and I can probably name two members on the team, and I've driven past the Oracle Arena so that makes us legit fans. We were excited when they won the finals and had fun celebrating.

This past week Uncle Charlie has had some of his daughters visit him as well as his niece so it's been a mix of meeting more extended family members and sharing memories. One of my mom's cousins is a master piano player and when she came over she gave Brennan an impromptu piano lesson. Mostly he played a song and she told him how to play it better. Brennan's never had a piano lesson but he took it well! What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. He now needs to learn a new song and play it for her in a couple of weeks!

First day of work
I also started work, so I had to say goodbye to sleeping in and watching the Disney Channel in HD all afternoon :( Now I'm waking up at 6:30 and spending all day in the sun with little kids. More on that in blogs to follow!

We are still loving the California life, though sometimes we enjoy making fun of the roads, especially how freeways appear out of nowhere, and how you usually can't turn left on busy streets because there are medians in the road. But we are slowly adjusting and getting better and pretending to be a Californian!
