Craft attempt
Well, I've decided to maybe actually start keeping a real blog, because actually I do the funniest/stupidest things and I think that other people should be able to laugh or learn from my mistakes. Mostly ever since getting married in August and also graduating from college I've tried to become more responsible and more mature....has that happened? No, but at least I am trying. Sometimes I cook dinner, sometimes it doesn't turn out. I think I could make a tv show about myself and call it hopeless wife. So on that track let me tell you about my failed craft attempt today. Back story, I am actually really bad at art, I don't have patience, and I just don't have the eye and hand coordination to make anything look good. I would rather do things really fast then spend a long time trying to figure out what colors and shapes look good together. Our apartment right now is pretty barren because I don't have cutesy picture frames or decorations that I made to make it look homier. Anyways today I suddenly got a craft urge and decided to make something cute and simple. I just got back from a trip to Mexico and had a lot of sea shells. I went to Hobby Lobby to buy a jar to put the sea shells in so they looked cute. Well while I was there I saw a wooden "S" and thought, "hey I could glue the seashells onto that and that would make a cute decoration." The "S' was on sale so I thought it would be a good idea. Well then I went to get some glue and since I'm cheapo I decided against buying the "seashell" glue and went with the everything glue that was $3 cheaper. Well, when I got home I arranged the seashells on the "S" and then I went to glue them. The glue didn't' come out. It was then I realized that I had to poke the top with something to create a hole, which I didn't know what to use, so I used a safety pin and poked a tiny hole wich the glue struggled to come out of. So then I spent the next 5 minutes trying to make the hole in the glue lid better, finally, they glue was able to come out. Well, then I started gluing the seashells on and guess what, the glue didn't work, I guess that's why they have seashell special glue. So after ten minutes of attempting to glue the seashells and making a big sticky mess like a first grader, I decided that I needed a hot glue gun and also realized how hopeless I was at being crafty. Not a talent I have and I'm not sure I will be able to develop it. I just hope when we have kids that they get Brennan's art talent because I certainly have none to pass on. Needless to say, I am on my way to the store to buy some better glue so that I can figure out a way to persevere and finish this tiny craft.
