It's a Party at the BYU!


Hola friends! Beginning June 21st I have been attending Brigham Young University in Provo Utah. Currently majoring in Communications. I love BYU and everyone here. The best part of living in the hot dry desert commonly known as Utah, is that I get to see my non-Washington family at least every other day. It is so neat to be with them all the time, we go on crazy adventures and always create memories.
The most recent activity I have participated in was, the worlds largest water balloon fight! We got free t-shirts and threw water balloons at everyone. Our clothes were drenched, but it's so hot here that the water soon evaporated off of our clothes and we were dry once again.

My roommates are amazing and we always find time to laugh, and not do dishes. Maren and I do so much together that when we are apart we get worried about the other one and has to call them to make sure they are okay.

Sand,Strawberries and SUP's

Well, we've barely been in California a week and we decided to take a trip! We drove down to Nipomo California and spent the weekend with the California Murrays.  We had an action packed weekend and really enjoyed seeing the ocean and soaking in some vitamin D.  On Saturday we went paddle boarding with my Aunt and Uncle. We had an adventurous paddle that was basically like a going through an aquarium. We passed sea otters floating together and we also saw Sea Lions chillin on the boat docks barking loudly. We paddled all the way to a cute little lighthouse and enjoyed walking around and taking in the view. My favorite part was a giant swing that overlooked the ocean. While swinging you felt like you were flying over the ocean, I did not want to get off. Saturday afternoon we went to the Strawberry Festival, a local event the city has once a year. There were lots of strawberries (which are basically straight from the field) and lots of booths with crafts from local artists. W

when breakfast becomes fish food

Can we just take a step back and realize how fast the summer is flying by? We've already been out here for five weeks! Next week we will be reaching our halfway point, that seems oh so crazy. Our California Adventure just keeps getting better each week. This week Los Altos was hit by a heat wave and we both almost boiled to death. Brennan had a fun week at work with conferences and outings while I was left to fry at my own job. Over the weekend we snuck to Monterey again and had another splendid Saturday! First, let's talk about Brennan's amazing week. He had a three-day conference at his work, with lots of meetings and breakout sessions and then fun party stuff. His work gave him breakfast every day and then in the evening he went out to dinner with his co-workers and then they also did finance team bonding activities. Forgetting about New Year's Resolutions and other New Year thoughts

I feel that this last week I've seen so many posts on social media about what goals people are setting as New Year's resolutions, and what they want to do to change their lives for the better. Two things crossed my mind when I scrolled through these posts. Number one, why does it take a new year for people to make goals? I guess I understand new beginnings and starting over, but if there is something that you want to change in your life, why do we have to wait for a new year or a new month? Why can't we just make the change daily? I'm sure there are some people who do try to set new goals throughout the year, I just wish it was more of a thing. We don't need to wait to change our habits, we just need the motivation and grit to make the changes daily, weekly or monthly. My second thought was, "wow I have been so preoccupied about having a baby that I haven't even thought of any goals or new years resolutions that I want to make." (really in my mind t
